Derma Rolling

The dermal-roller is a simple hand-held device with 192 tiny surgical steel microneedles that puncture the skin, creating channels down into the derma and collagen layer of tissue. The only immediate visual damage to the surface layer of skin are tiny pinpricks that close up about an hour later, but during that time, your skin is significantly better able to absorb and benefit from healing serums to accelerate collagen growth for smoother, tighter skin.

Depending on the aggressiveness of laser, the patient is either topically anesthetized or is anesthetized by IV solution to be asleep through the procedure as it is generally very painful. Preparation for Dermal rolling, or micro-needle therapy, requires topical anesthetic, my unique method assures a painless treatment!

The tiny needles penetrate the epidermis; creating hundreds of tiny channels, creating stimulation to the collagenbut leaving the visible skin intact! (Needle created channels) allow C-serum and hyaluronic acid to penetrate deep into the tissue to further accelerate repair deep in the dermis layer.

Dermal Rolling vs. Laser Re-Surfacing

Micro–channels, created by the surgical steel needles, seal within hours while new collagen–structures are forming within the lower layers of the skin. The principle behind Collagen Induction Therapy is to stimulate the body’s own production of collagen by causing a minute injury to the dermis, which results in the start of the wound healing cascade. The fine needles penetrate the skin and cause tiny wounds and inflammation. These wounds become the focal point for the body to produce its own collagen. At least 3 sessions, one month apart are recommended for best results.

BENEFITS FOR FACE, NECK, OR BODY:

  • Not painful with proper topical anesthesia
  • Short healing period, 24 hours downtime
  • Discoloration for about a week but can apply makeup in 24 hours
  • Safely repeated for better results
  • Can be used on laser resurfaced skin
  • Cost effective, as low as $250.00 for specific areas

BENEFITS FOR SCAR TREATMENT:

  • Scar-tissue tension is reduced by perforation
  • Rope-like scar bands perforated and smoothed
  • Surrounding tissue is not damaged
  • Re-pigmentation of the skin for most patients
  • Can be repeated for continued results
  • Scar edges blend and become softer
  • Makeup adheres to the skin easily after treatment

Results

Results can take three to nine months to fully appear as the body takes time to generate new collagen, but the patient will notice continual improvement.

A crucial part for the most beneficial result is the preparation of the skin prior to the procedure with topical vitamins A and C. It is very important that the patient continue using the topical vitamins for at least 6 months after the procedure to ensure the production of healthy collagen and elastin. Hyaluronic Acid needs to be added to the vitamin regimen for at least 6 weeks after the procedure. The results are vastly inferior when not following these protocols.

After the procedure, skin looks smoother and improves fine lines around the eyes, mouth and cheeks. Skin texture and brown marks will also improve in most cases.
